Photos of a lion being kept in a narrow glass box for the amusement of café customers has sparked outrage on social media.
The young lion was filmed prowling around its tiny enclosure in videos posted on the Instagram account of a Turkish "zoo".
Social media users have branded the actions of the zoo as being tantamount " animal cruelty ".
One video shows the lion pacing up and down the narrow enclosure, which is barely wider than the animal itself. Another shows a child running alongside the box as the lion "chases" after her, the Independent reports.
Customers at tables nearby as the caged lion watched on. The footage shows the big cat constantly pacing to and fro, as if in frustration at being confined to a space less than a metre wide.
