A huge golden eagle swooped on an eight-year-old during a birds of prey performance after confusing her with its prey.
The little girl suffered head injuries and needed several stitches after the huge animal caught her in its giant claws.
The horrific attack happened during a show in Kyrgyzstan when spectators were watching hunting birds of prey with their handlers.
As the eagle was released the unnamed child suddenly ran from the spectator area.
Within seconds the bird - with a wingspan of more than 6ft - had grabbed the girl in its claws as it believed she was its prey that it had been trained to catch during the performance.
