Knifeman 'tries to rob train passenger' but is cornered and beaten into bloody mess by vigilante mob

A knifeman tried to rob a train passenger but was cornered by a mob of witnesses and beaten until he was bloodied and unconscious, it is claimed.



Dramatic video shows the man wielding a knife as passengers hurl objects at him and and whack him with sticks or umbrellas.



He wildly swings the knife and ducks as he's pelted with large rocks onboard a carriage.



Moments later the man is knocked to the floor and swarmed by the mob, who repeatedly kick him and hit him with weapons until he is unconscious in a pool of his own blood.



The shocking incident happened onboard a stationary train at a station in Rio de Janeiro late Friday night.
