Seven people were hospitalized in Rogersville following a Monday morning traffic stop. The chief of police in Rogersville said that officers confiscated a small amount of marijuana and a vape pipe during a traffic stop around 6 a.m. While confiscating that pipe to test it, liquid reportedly got on an officer’s hand.
Within a few minutes, that officer reportedly had a headache, blood-shot eyes, and his skin was red. A paramedic who responded to the scene later became sick and was taken to Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital (ECM).
ECM then suggested that everyone who was exposed be checked out. The chief of police was notified that one of the firefighters began experiencing a nosebleed and a severe headache, while another firefighter became light-headed and dizzy. Another employee of the police station also became sick.
