A driver who left a woman with serious injuries after he ploughed his Mercedes into her Nissan while reportedly high-speeding on a 30mph-limit road is starting his jail term.
Shocking CCTV footage shows Ryan O’Neill driving his white Mercedes at high speed before the Nissan comes into view and instead of making any attempt at breaking, the 28-year-old ploughs right into its side.
The force of the collision was such that it threw the Nissan into the fence of a resident’s property and into a tree standing in front.
The car narrowly misses a parked van and O’Neill’s Mercedes is left facing in the other direction with smoke pouring out from under the car’s bonnet, Manchester Evening News reports .
