An innocent man who was pepper-sprayed, wrestled to the floor and forced into a police van while his two young children watched has won a £35,000 pay out.
Shocking footage taken after his arrest show Paul Ponting refusing to put on a "paper suit" following a strip search in a cell at Skelmersdale Police Station in Lancashire.
Mr Ponting, 48, says he feels "vindicated" following a four-year legal battle with Lancashire Constabulary.
The force decided not to fight a civil claim for wrongful arrest, false imprisonment, assault and malicious prosecution, the Liverpool Echo reports.
Lancashire Constabulary confirmed it had settled the case without liability, meaning it made no formal admission of wrong-doing, although the settlement includes a letter of apology.
