The security of the mayor Rozálio Souza da Hora, from the city of São Felipe, Bahia, was killed during an attempted robbery at the mayor's house on the morning of Thursday (11). The mayor sent a statement expressing gratitude for the concern of the people:
"I would like to thank all the expressions of concern, affection and solidarity that have been extended to me and my family for what happened today in our residence. As some of you may already know, our house was robbed on Thursday morning (11/10) despite having suffered the scare, I'm fine.
I want to express here my sincere feelings of gratitude and support to the family of my eternal friend Hamilton, a person of integrity and a great heart. Unfortunately, he was shot and died. May God comfort the hearts of all the family members in this moment of pain for all of us. To all who have worried, called or sent messages, my THANK YOU! May God continue to bless us, protect us and free us from all evil. "
The bodyguard was shot twice, once in the hand (presumably when he was pistol whipped by the first guy) and the head.
