A thief has been caught on CCTV smashing the window of an ambulance while paramedics treated a patient nearby.
The incident, which happened at around 9pm on October 28 in Birmingham, saw the criminal take off with a mobile phone and other personal items belonging to the crew.
CCTV footage was captured by the ambulance's external cameras and shows the hooded thief scoping the area, before returning four minutes later and checking no one is inside the emergency vehicle.
He can then be seen smashing the driver's side window of the locked ambulance before reaching in and running away with several personal items including an iPhone.
West Midlands Ambulance Service has released CCTV footage in the hope that it helps to identify the individual.
