An innocent pedestrian could have been killed after being shoved into the path on oncoming taxi on a busy London street.
In this disturbing footage, a car is seen slamming its brakes on to avoid running over the person as he lands head first on to the road.
The footage shows the victim walking on the pavement at around 8am.
He is then shoved, from behind, into the road and narrowly avoids being hit by a taxi.
Officers say they have learnt from the victim that before the incident, he brushed shoulders and exchanged words with a suspect in New Bridge Street.
The victim continued to walk down the road on his way to work but he was followed by the suspect who then pushed him towards the oncoming cars, according to police.
