Good Samaritan stops Walmart theft by pinning down shoplifter

A man attempting to flee a Wisconsin Walmart with a dozen stolen videos last week did not expect the hammer to be brought down on him.



Specifically, 34-year-old Good Samaritan Mark Hammer.



A cellphone recording has emerged showing Hammer, who played defensive line in high school, tackling 39-year-old Christopher Simpson to the ground before he had a chance to flee the Greenfield Walmart on December 5.



When police responded to the store a few minutes later, they found Hammer pinning Simpson down with his bulk.
