Police investigating the Factory nightclub attack in Manchester that left a young rugby league star with severe head injuries have made four arrests.
St Helens player Joe Sharratt, 18, suffered a bleed on the brain when he was knocked unconscious, and his friend Leon Cooper, also 18, was repeatedly punched during in the assault.
Superintendent Chris Hill previously said the CCTV footage of the assault left him ‘disturbed, upset and disgusted'.
After the incident on December 2, the nightclub, which has since had its licence temporarily suspended, sacked its door staff.
Police said today that two men, aged 20 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, section 47 and section 20 assault.
