A parent of a Freedom High School student is claiming school officials ignored violent threats made by one of his daughter’s classmates, which he said prompted him to withdraw his 16-year-old daughter from the school.
Bobby Walker, 40, publicized the allegations Wednesday in videos on Facebook and YouTube that have been shared over a thousand times and viewed several thousand times.
“I feel lost, I feel betrayed by my community,†Walker said in one of the videos. “I don’t know what to do. If your kids go there [Freedom High School], your kids are not safe.â€
Walker said the situation began when a message was written on a bathroom at the school last month that said, “On Friday, students are going to die.â€
The threat was later discussed in a group chat of about 40 students, he said, in which one of the participants made a threatening statement, which another participant captured with a screenshot and reported to school officials, who suspended the offending student.
