A British tourist risked his life after jumping off a fourth-floor balcony at a Gran Canaria apartment block.
Shocking video footage and photographs show a man leaning off the balcony, before plunging into the air.
Onlookers watched in horror as the holidaymaker, believed to be 28, squatted down before jumping off the side of the three-star Tamaran Apartments in the holiday resort Playa del Ingles.
He was filmed walking along the wrong side of a railing for more than two minutes before his leap.
At one point before jumping, he also tried to climb round a pillar at the end of the building.
The Brit landed on a Dacia Logan rental car below which suffered a smashed windscreen but cushioned his fall and saved his life.
Miraculously he only suffered superficial injuries but he was said to be in a “disturbed” condition and was taken to a hospital in the island capital called the Hospital Universitario Insular.
Local reports said he had been on drink and drugs before jumping.
