Staff at a beauty salon in China have been forced to slap themselves in the face for 100 times after failing to hit their sales targets, it is alleged.
Workers who were punished must show their boss they had hit themselves hard enough, or they would face a further cash penalty for failing to carry out the punishment properly, Mr Pan accused.
Employees were also subject to other extreme penalties, including eating raw chilli peppers and onions as well as drinking vinegar; and some were forced to complete 10-kilometre cross-country running, Mr Pan added. Mr Pan, who used to work as a manager at the Runfa Hair Salon in the city of Wuxi, told of the horror to China's Chengdu TV Station yesterday.
