At around 3:30pm Tuesday, a container truck crashed tons of motorcycles in an intersection near a bridge in Long An (south of Vietnam), causing 4 deaths and 20 people injured.
A man identified as Pham Thanh Hieu (32 years old, originated from Long An) was driving the container truck on Highway 1A from the West to Ho Chi Minh City. When reaching the intersection, the truck hit tons of motorcycles which were stopping at the red light. The truck continues to go for 150 metres with motorcycles under the ground clearance.
At the scene, 20 people were injured, 3 people died. A person died afterwards in the hospital. 21 motorcycles were severely disfigured. Motorcycles were stacking up one another, with oils draining down to the roads. Some were stuck under the truck.
After causing the incident, the truck driver left the scene (don't know if he ran away or not).
