A serial killer dubbed China's “Jack the Ripper” has been executed for the rape and murder of 11 girls and women over 14 years.
Gao Chengyong, 54, followed his victims to their homes where he slit their throats and mutilated their bodies by cutting off parts of their reproductive organs.
The married dad-of-two's youngest victim was just eight years old, and he carried out his first murder in May 1988 - the year his son was born.
Gao was finally arrested in August 2016 after he was traced through DNA testing, and he was put to death on Thursday by the world's most prolific executioner.
