A woman was pulled from a burning truck after she was hit during an overnight police chase.
The crash happened Wednesday around 11 p.m. on southbound Denton Highway near West Loop 820 in Haltom City.
Police said the woman was trying to pull her Dodge pickup truck into a parking lot when a man in a Honda Accord slammed into her traveling about 90 miles per hour.
Apparently, Haltom City officers had spotted the man driving erratically earlier. They tried to stop him but he sped off northbound on Denton Highway.
Haltom City police said the officers ended the chase when they lost sight of the suspect. But as they turned around they came across the same Honda Accord going southbound on Denton Highway.
Again the officers tried to pull the suspect over and again he sped off. After he crossed West Loop 820, he slammed into the woman’s pickup truck, sending it spinning across the center median and causing it to burst into flames.
Officers were able to pull the woman from the wreckage before she suffered any burns. She had no obvious injuries but was taken to the hospital for a possible head injury.
