A video of police shooting a gun-wielding man as he sat in a taxi after a tense standoff has today been released.
Sam Houlihan, 24, was cornered by police after he was spotted wandering around holding a gun by terrified pedestrians in Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
Officers screamed to Houlihan to 'keep you hands where we can see them' and 'put it down, you're going to be shot' before opening fire when he ignored their commands.
A visibly petrified taxi driver, who was holding his hands in the air, was forced to open the door of his vehicle and desperately flee seconds before Houlihan was shot.
