Two teenage girls have admitted animal cruelty after a video showing them abusing a snake went viral.
Frankie-Jane Kane and Yasmin Walker, both 19, were convicted of causing a three-year-old boa constrictor unnecessary suffering.
A Snapchat video of the boozed-up pair showed them laughing as they tortured the 4ft reptile - which sparked outrage online.
Esmeralda the snake had managed to escape from a high rise in Aberdeen city centre, where Walker, who is known by the last name of Doherty, lives.
It was there that the girls stumbled across it on the pavement, reports the Daily Record.
Kane and a group of pals had been celebrating her 19th birthday on July 3 last year.
