A 16-year-old schoolboy has been shot in front of horrified commuters at a rail station in east London.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene at Barking station just before 11.30pm on Wednesday after officers received calls that a man had been stabbed. It later emerged that the man had been shot, after a small bullet was found in his abdomen.
Violent scenes unfolded on a tube train at the station which operates the Hammersmith and City line, the District line and other mainline services.
Witnesses at the scene said the passenger alarm was pulled when a suspect fled a train after the doors opened at the station.
