The video takes place around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 29, 2016 inside OD’s Plantation at 16th and Sycamore streets. It began with a man – Eric King, investigators claim – leaning against a pool table. That man draws something from his pants, turns 180 degrees and fires a pistol.
Smoke could be seen spewing from the gun’s barrel. The gunman and another man were shown walking out of the bar. King shot Derrick Garner once inside the bar and twice again on the sidewalk outside. Chief Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Gettle claims King shot Garner because Garner “disrespected” him. It was played for the jury that convicted King of first-degree murder on March 5, 2016.
