Mariusz Florczak, 33, has been jailed for the crash which left his passenger with shattered bones and a collapsed lung.
Video played in court showed him speeding down the road at twice the limit towards the bus stop. Even hitting it wasn’t enough to stop him, as the vehicle continued until it hit a lamppost and finally stopped.
His passenger, a 38-year-old woman, was left with a fractured pelvis, multiple rib fractures, injury to her liver, and a spinal fracture.
The court heard she may never fully recover from her injuries and uses a walking aid to get around. Paramedics found her unconscious in the back seat of the car in the Ardwick area of Manchester.
