A stray dog has miraculously survived after being skinned alive in the street "like an orange".



The pooch, named Rosita by locals, was found in horrific condition outside the home of a neighbour who often fed her in Cordoba, Argentina.



Shocked residents alerted animal rights activists who took the dog into their care.



Heart-wrenching pictures show she was severely mutilated and left with a bloodied coat.



Veronica Nuesch, one of the vets who stitched Rosita back up, said the dog had shown amazing determination to survive horrific abuse that left her skin peeled back 'like an orange'.



She described the dog as a 'little warrior' and said she was now on the mend.
