A Starbucks shift supervisor in Queens has been fired after viral video shows her screaming at a customer and demanding she leave after accusing her of stealing a cookie straw.
"Give me the straw! You're not going to be served here. Bye! Bye! Give me the straw and leave," the fuming worker shouts, according to cell phone footage customer Ruby Chen posted on Facebook.
Chen said she ordered a Frappuccino Tuesday at the coffee chain's 86-51 Broadway location in Elmhurst - but then got her beans roasted by the woman behind the counter, who she identified as "Melissa."
"I didn't hear her coworker asking my name to put on cup at first because I was opening my reward app on my phone to pay," Chen wrote on Starbucks' Facebook page. "Then Melissa started to shout at me saying hey helloooo with very bad attitude."
A confused Chen said she apologized to the employee for not answering quickly enough but that she didn't "have to yell."
"And till now, I haven't figured out which word aggravated her," she wrote in her complaint to the coffee chain.
The worker allegedly accused Chen of stealing the straw and snatched away the price scanner when she tried to pay, the customer said. Then she unloaded on Chen, saying at one point she could leave with the treat and never come back.
Starbucks apologized to Chen in a reply to her social media complaint, saying the worker "no longer works" for the company.
She was immediately suspended after the complaint, Starbucks spokeswoman Maggie Jantzen told the Daily News.
"This customer's experience isn't reflective of the service that our partners provide to customers every day," she said. "We want to work with her to make it right."
