A restaurant full of have-a-go heroes have brought a 22-year-old’s rampage to a grinding halt.
The offender stormed past a queue of people waiting to enter the Granville venue on Sunday night, walking to the front of the line and demanding to be let in.
Onlookers say the intoxicated man became increasingly aggressive when he was told to go back, security footage capturing the moment he drew a baton and began smashing cups and computers on the front desk.
He began yelling at staff and customers, not expecting retaliation.
So he was caught by surprise when six people confronted him, snatching the rod from his hands and turning it against him.
He eventually crawled to the back of the store, where he remained until police arrived.
Officers say he had a knife on him as well.
Police charged him with affray and possessing prohibited weapons. They say he was intoxicated and was granted bail to appear in court next month.
