Video shows a woman being dragged by a car after a thief grabbed her purse and tried to quickly take off.
Police in St. Paul, Minnesota, posted the video to their Facebook page.
According to police, the victim had finished shopping and was putting stuff in the trunk of her car.
That's when police say the thief got out of dark blue Hyundai Elantra, which was stolen, grabbed her purse and drove off.
The woman's arm got caught in the purse strap and she was dragged by the stolen vehicle for 75 yards, according to police.
The victim was not seriously injured.
Police believe this wasn't an isolated incident. They said they have received reports of more than 20 robberies with similar characteristics.
The victims tend to be women who are alone, at least 40 years old and carrying a purse or bag.
The individuals sneak up on these women and take their purse or bag. They escape on foot or in a car, police say.
Police are still looking for the people responsible.
