A major fire broke out early Tuesday morning in several buildings in a warehouse district near13th Street and South Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco, requiring a large response from city firefighters and shutting down lanes of Highway 101, officials said.
Multiple buildings caught fire around 7 a.m., power lines were reported down and people were advised to stay away from the area, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.
The California Highway Patrol reported that one lane of Highway 101 in the southbound direction was closed.
