Carrick-on-Shannon Gardai are investigating an assault after a woman was allegedly hit with a pickaxe during a row in the county town this week.
The incident occurred at Pairc Beag, Lis Cara at approximately 7.30pm on Thursday, September 3.
The woman’s injuries are understood to be non-life-threatening.
Video though uploaded to social media shows the woman initially attacking a home with the pickaxe. The video clearly shows the lady as the aggressor as she slams the axe through the front door and window.
It is unknown what the argument was about.
