UPDATE: 9/30/2020 9: 49 a.m. -- According to a press release from Kennewick police, officers have located the suspect's car and have identified the people inside the car who were associated with the car at the time of the assault. This case is still under investigation.
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Kennewick Police are investigating an apparent assault after a man was allegedly head-butted while attending a rally for President Donald Trump.
Police say they were called for the alleged assault at 1:15 PM in the area of Columbia Center Boulevard.
Witnesses told police that a black Cadillac Escalade pulled up alongside the rally. Police say a man got out of the SUV and head-butted a man in his 40s and then drove off.
Kennewick Police tell Action News that the vehicle appears to be a rental. Officers are working with the rental company to determine who was driving the vehicle.
The victim suffered a cut to his nose but officers say the injury appeared to be minor.
Action News has acquired video of the incident. It shows a black Escalade sitting at a traffic stop and several people exiting the vehicle. The people approach a Trump supporter. It appears one of the individuals assaults a Trump supporter. Then the group run back to the SUV and speed off of Columbia Center Boulevard and head east on Canal.
