An LAFD engine discovered a building on fire in the 13000 block of Ventura Blvd and requested a full structure fire response from dispatch. Units arrived and made quick access into the building while pouring water onto the roof from the engine.
An LAFD member attempted to access an adjoining building using a circular saw when gasoline from the tool spilled over him. His colleagues managed to dowse him with water before he suffered any injuries. The original fire building was destroyed by the blaze and was knocked down in 24 minutes by 35 firefighters.
