A video of a Crestwood cop abusing his family has gone viral.
The incident happened last May but the video was relatively unknown until social media pushed it viral this week.
From patch.com in May- A Crestwood police officer is accused of battering his wife and two daughters while the family was vacationing in an Indiana campground, according to Portage, Ind. police. Dino Pavoni, 38, who resides in Midlothian, is facing felony charges of strangulation and domestic battery, and misdemeanor charge of interfering with reporting a crime. Police are also said to have confiscated a cache of weapons found in the trailer, including two Glocks, a Sig-Sauer, taser and a duty belt with three pairs of handcuffs.
Around 3 a.m. May 17 in the Lakeshore Camp Resort (formerly Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park), 5300 Old Porter Road, police responded to a disturbance in a trailer. When officers arrived, a boy was standing outside in the rain, stating that his mother was inside the trailer laying on the floor and in need of help, police said. The girl told police that her father was still inside the trailer.
A man, later identified as Pavoni, came outside and stood with another officer. When the officer entered the trailer, he said Pavoni's wife was sitting on the floor calling for help, saying she felt dizzy. The officer stayed with the woman until the medics arrived. While waiting for the medics to arrive, she told police she had gotten into an argument with her husband when they were taking down the front awning of the trailer. She claimed her husband hit her several times before ending up on the floor, the report said. She also recalled one of her children recording the alleged altercation on a cell phone. Police said there was redness on the woman's neck.
