A Columbus man headed to prison learned the hard way that he can’t fly.
On Thursday morning, Franklin County Court of Common Pleas Judge Mark Serrott sentenced Donald R. Mullins to spend the next six years in prison for robbery.
Apparently, the thought of spending 2,190 days behind bars is too much for the 44-year-Mullins to handle.
Witnesses say Mullins stormed out of the courtroom, into the hallway and jumped from the sixth to the fifth floor.
A woman recorded Mullins lying on the concrete floor, blood pouring from his head wounds, moaning in pain, and posted it on YouTube. It’s distasteful and inhumane to say the least which is why I am not linking you to that video.
Franklin County Sheriff Office deputies immediately rushed to the man’s aid and stayed with him until EMTs arrived and transported Mullins to the hospital. Sources tell me that Mullins suffered several broken bones and cracked his skull.
Mullins remains at a local hospital and once his condition improves, he will be transported to the Ohio Dept. of Rehabilitation and Corrections. Mullins may also be charged with attempting to escape.
