A police investigation has been launched after footage emerged of football fans hurling tables and chairs at each other on a packed beach.
The carnage unfolded around a seafront kiosk in Southend, Essex, on Sunday as temperatures reached 28C, with around a dozen men repeatedly flinging deck furniture and bottles at each other at close range.
Thousands of people had descended on the seafront on the day England beat Croatia in their Euro 2020 opener, setting the stage for sunstroke and booze-fuelled altercations.
Footage of the brawl shows passers-by darting out of the way to avoid being caught in the crossfire as the fighting intensified.
