On March 16, 2022, a Portland city council public meeting was trolled by actors mocking Mayor Ted Wheeler and the city's government.
The first troll was a Pakistani actor hired by comedian Alex Stein to pretend to be a Taliban militant. He praises the city's weak law enforcement. Wheeler cut off the speaker, saying he was racist. The second troll was popular YouTuber Cassady Campbell, who said, "George Floyd has been sober for two years."
The near back-to-back trolling prompted a frustrated Wheeler to say they needed to "rethink" how they let the public engage in these meetings.
