An Orange County family desperately wants to find a hit-and-run driver who left their loved one in the hospital.
Matthew Gerren, 39, sustained multiple injuries after what the family says was a case of road rage.
Jessica Myers is going through a roller coaster of emotions: "Shock, hurt, scared unbelieve, like just, unbelievable. I don't get it."
Her fiancé, Gerren, whom she calls her husband since they've been together for so long, was injured by a hit-and-run driver Thursday evening.
In the video, her fiancé took off after the incident, you can hear running and she says: "Oh my God, I'm calling 911 right now. I'm calling 911 right now baby."
Gerren is recovering from his injuries here at Orlando Health. He suffered multiple injuries including fractures to his wrist and vertebrae.
He also suffered injuries to his arms, legs and face. Myers says he was taken off a ventilator Saturday.
Myers said she was driving home on Highway 50 Thursday and the driver cut her off. She said something to him, she says the driver also threw something at her car and then followed her.
"And I was on the phone with my fiancé and I told him this guy was following me, what do I do, he said 'just come home I'm going to record him, he'll probably just leave,'" she said.
But he didn't. Instead, the driver backed up, then floored it and hit Matthew Gerren.
Their older son was outside, too.
You could hear him on the cellphone video, too, saying:" Dad, dad."
"When the guy hit him, he went through the front windshield and the guy started swerving back and forth, and so he was propelled off the side, hit the concrete and rolled in the grass," Myers said.
The driver fled in what's believed to be a 2004 or 2005 Blue customized Acura with no tag.
