An Ohio man was detained after causing a moment of chaos near the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium on Friday.
Joseph Solinger was charged with failure to comply, inducing panic, misconduct at an emergency, driving while under the influence, reckless operation, rules for marked lanes, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, and obeying traffic control device, according to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
The 36-year-old reportedly ignored officers’ traffic directions at an accident scene, instead going into the zoo parking lot.
When an officer attempted to stop him, Solinger fled on foot.
A foot pursuit ensued, and Solinger was eventually brought down with a Taser.
The situation prompted rumors of an active shooting inside of the zoo, but neither the police nor the suspect made it into the compound gates.
According to ABC6the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office office released body camera footage in the aftermath of the incident.
