FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — Over $20,000 worth of MyEyeDr. eyeglass frames were stolen in a smash-and-grab robbery in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County last month, police say.
Officers responded to My Eye Dr. on 6307 Richmond Highway on April 19 around 6:22 p.m., according to the Fairfax County Police Dept.
Police say four men entered the business and damaged the glass display cases, stealing over $20,000 worth of eyeglass frames.
The incident was captured on cell phone video.
In the video, someone can be heard saying "the cops are on their way" as the suspects, wearing gloves, masks, and hoods or hats, grabbed a bunch of items and put them inside bags before fleeing.
"These crimes, they're so quick," said Lt. James Curry with the Fairfax County Police Department. "And when you watch the cell phone video, you find yourself holding your breathe, and we're fortunate no one was injured in this case. That's the last thing we want."
