A Texas school is under fire after a viral video showed one middle school student putting another into a headlock last week. The boy who was bullied received a harsher punishment than the aggressor, according to WFAA.
The students were from Coppell Middle School North, which is in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The recording, shared widely on social media, captured one student standing behind another in the cafeteria. After a brief disagreement, the student standing puts the sitting one in a chokehold. It was recorded on May 11.
Sonika Kukreja, the mother of the boy who was bullied, said her son received a three-day in-school suspension while the middle-schooler who put him in a headlock received a one-day suspension, according to WFAA. Kukreja started a petition on Change.org to spread awareness and to call on the school to take more action against her son's aggressor.
