Art lovers and casual visitors at the Louvre were left stunned recently after a man dressed as an old woman tried vandalizing the Mona Lisa.
The person jumped out of a wheelchair and smeared cake over the iconic painting. A clip showing visitors taking photos of the cake-covered painting has now been widely circulated on social media.
Fortunately, the cake didn't touch the real artwork. It was only smeared over the glass that protects the famous piece by Leonardo da Vinci.
According to witnesses, the man got up from his wheelchair, threw off his wig, and went straight for the Mona Lisa with cake in his hand.
