Police of the province of Los Ríos, in Ecuador, thwarted an assault on a market, where they tried to steal a motorcycle.
One of the criminals was killed, another was arrested and a citizen, whose motorcycle they tried to steal was shot dead, according to local media reports.
On social networks, several videos were uploaded showing the criminal couple arriving at the market, one of them demanded the keys to his motorcycle from a customer and shot him multiple times.
When the criminals were preparing to escape, a police truck blocked their way and several agents exchanged fire next to the market.
Media in Ecuador identified one of the criminals: Jean Lucas Murillo Palma, 18, who died after the crossfire; the other unidentified criminal was arrested and is 19 years old. The victim, José Armando Montiel Vargas, died in a hospital, at the age of 25.
