A disturbing video has gone viral of two Atlético Nacional supporters in Medellín hunting down and hacking to death a fan of a rival soccer team with machetes.
It is being said the murdered man was a fan of Tolima and a dispute escalated to its brutal, bloody end.
The incident happened just two days before the first leg of the Colombian soccer final between Deportes Tolima and Atlético Nacional which will take place in the city of Ibagué.
Google translate from an article on what lead to the incident:
The incident started when some members of the Millonarios bars gathered in the place, despite the prohibition of attendance at the stadium, and began to fight among themselves. With machetes and daggers, the men wearing the ambassador’s shirt clashed on the avenue. The uniformed men immediately arrived in patrol cars and motorcycles with the intention of calming things down on foot, but the atmosphere was so tense that the Esmad agents arrived to reinforce security. According to witnesses, the use of stun bombs was necessary to restore order. Other audiovisuals let you see the fight more closely.
More than 200 fans in a caravan began to fight with machetes in hand. A dog is even seen walking with one of the followers in the middle of the crowd. The video, which is evidently captured from a car, allows the narration of one of those who were in the vehicle to be heard and desperately asks to start while raising the window of the car: “Come on, come on, come on. They cut the face from side to side of a Chinese, ”he recounts.
