Cali Oberbeck, who was at a nearby bar when the shooting happened, says she and others stayed put and hid out. She says they were scared to leave.
“We just heard gunshots and we were stuck upstairs for like an hour, and when we went downstairs were helping everyone clean up because we had nothing else to do because we were stuck, and we just saw someone being carried on a stretcher,” said Oberbeck.
Jennifer Denison works at Neon Beach, a restaurant on Orange Avenue, just a few doors down from where the shooting happened. She says she works during the day so she won’t have to be downtown at night – when she says violence usually happens.
