Brevard County, Florida — On July 30, 2022 around 7:30 p.m. Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to the area of I-95 in Sebastian for a report of a golf cart driving on the highway. The first trooper on the scene arrived to find a semi-truck pulled over on the shoulder with a golf cart in front of it. The truck driver said that he spotted a woman later identified as 58-year-old Diane Hawk, driving a golf cart in the center lane of I-95. The truck driver used her vehicle to guide the golf cart onto the shoulder of the interstate.
Once on the shoulder, the truck driver was able to take away the golf cart’s keys to keep Hawk from driving away. When police arrived on the scene, Hawk became combative and insisted that she needed her bag. Officers found an open bottle of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire Whiskey inside the bag. Hawk then began resisting arrest but was ultimately cuffed and taken to the Brevard County jail. She was booked into the Brevard County Jail on charges of disorderly intoxication and resisting officers without violence.
