BEAUMONT — The Beaumont Independent School District says it's aware of videos showing a violent attack against a student in a West Brook High School bathroom and has taken disciplinary actions 'to the fullest extent' as part of the investigation.
The videos circulating on social media show one student hitting and punching another student several times in the face and head, even when he's on the bathroom floor, and then kicking him. The student on the floor tries to cover up and protect himself but the other student continues hitting him in the face and head.
The videos show several other students in the bathroom watching. There doesn't appear to be anyone trying to intervene, not those watching nor the person taking the cell phone video.
The district says it's aware of the videos of the violent incident. The district calls the behavior unacceptable and says the acts of violence won't be tolerated. According to the statement, Beaumont ISD Police and administrators investigated the content of the videos and identified all students taking part. The district says it's taken disciplinary actions to the fullest extent and will continue working to ensure this type of behavior doesn't occur on any campus.
