A saga that began in December 2019 moved one step closer to a conclusion this week.
Mark David Latunski, charged in the murder and mutilation of 25-year-old Kevin Bacon, pleaded guilty Thursday, Sept. 22, as charged to open murder and mutilation of a body.
Bacon’s murder captured national headlines. Through police records, MLive-The Flint Journal previously reported that the Swartz Creek man was found hanging from his ankles inside Latunski’s Shiawassee County home.
Bacon, it was revealed, was stabbed in the back. His body was hung from his ankles, his throat cut and parts of him were eaten, according to police.
The incident happened either late on Christmas Eve or early Christmas Day, 2019.
