LINDEN, NJ — Linden police are looking for a man they say threw bottles of wine at several New Jersey liquor store clerks and threatened to kill them when they wouldn't sell him alcohol at a discounted price.
Linden police said officers were called to Beno's Liquor on Nov. 30 around 5:15 p.m. According to police, the suspect attempted to purchase a small bottle of liquor but didn't have enough money.
When an employee refused to sell the suspect the liquor at a discounted price, he became "irate," police said. The man threatened to kill the employees and threw several large bottles of red wine at them, authorities said, before he grabbed a small bottle of liquor and left the store.
