A violent attack occurred at a Müller branch in Mosbach on Sunday, February 26, 2023. According to police reports, a 29-year-old migrant entered the store and began attacking customers and the cashier with a thick branch.
The incident was captured on video, which shows the man hitting the sliding door at the entrance with the branch, causing it to shatter. He then proceeded to throw pieces of the broken door towards the checkout area, narrowly missing a pram and two customers.
The cashier was protected by a sneeze guard attached to the cash register, which was hit by the branch. Some customers jumped in shock and were visibly surprised by the sudden attack.
Officers from the Mosbach police station were able to temporarily arrest the perpetrator at around 7 p.m. on the same day. He was then brought before a magistrate at the Mosbach District Court on Sunday.
The motive for the attack is still unknown, and investigations are ongoing. The incident has left many residents of Mosbach shaken, and the local community is calling for measures to be put in place to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
