Disturbing Video Shows 7 Year Old Girl Toss 4 Year Old Boy Down A Well

A video that has been circulating on social media has raised concerns about the influence of violent images on TV on children after a seven-year-old Chinese girl was caught on camera throwing a smaller boy down a well.

The footage, captured by surveillance cameras in a village in Yunnan’s Songming county, shows the girl carrying the boy and dropping him into the approximately 5-meter-deep well. Despite the boy’s desperate attempts to hold on, the girl pries his fingers off the edge, causing him to fall into the well. She appears unaffected by his distress and cries for help, briefly standing by the well before leaving.

Thankfully, other villagers heard the boy’s calls for help and came to his rescue. According to Chinese media reports from March 29th, the village authorities confirmed that the incident occurred around 4 pm on March 4th, 2023. The four-year-old boy surnamed Yang, was successfully rescued and, apart from catching a cold, did not suffer any major injuries or illnesses.
