A 17-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy have been arrested in connection with a Toronto police officer being struck in a hit-and-run in Parkdale on Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers were on bike patrol in the area of Jameson Avenue and King Street West when they spotted a stolen vehicle stopped in the northbound lanes.
As officers approached the vehicle, the driver accelerated towards both of them, causing one of them to abandon their bicycle, and hit the other officer, injuring them as they rolled onto the hood of another vehicle.
Video released by police shows the red sedan driving off through the intersection. The vehicle continued north on Jameson Avenue, later found abandoned in the Lansdowne Avenue and Queen Street West area.
The injured officer was taken to hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
