Dramatic video footage shows the moment a driver mowed down a construction worker on the Upper East Side — sending him flying through the glass storefront of a cafe during a crazed road-rage feud.
Roberto Velez Alvarez, 54, of Long Island, is seen standing on the street outside Cafe Oxford on East 60th Street between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue before a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Andre Mosby, 26, suddenly slams into him at 3:56 p.m. Wednesday.
The impact threw Alvarez through the restaurant’s front windows, shattering the glass and causing onlookers to scream in distress, according to surveillance footage shot from inside the restaurant.
Alvarez is then shown lying in a heap of glass shards on the sidewalk outside as Mosby steps out of the car.
The deadly encounter — which led to Mosby’s arrest on manslaughter charges Thursday — came during a heated clash between the two drivers, according to police.
